The European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) is an international organisation whose purpose is to operate the world’s largest particle physics laboratory. CERN is located in of Geneva, Switzerland on the Franco- Swiss border. Established in 1954, the organisation has twenty European member states, representing 608 universities and research facilities across 113 nationalities.

At CERN Almir worked on the LINAC4 project – commissioning and installation of the new linear accelerator. He was responsible for maintenance and development of a beam dynamics simulation software that was used during the project. He developed, among other, a LINAC4 specific signal processing module which was used for noise elimination and measurement visualisation.
